Type I, usually a lens-embedded glass bead type, is called an engineering-grade reflective film and has a typical service life of 7 years. It can be used for permanent traffic signs and work area facilities.
Type II, usually a lens-embedded glass bead type structure, is called an ultra-engineering grade retroreflective film and its service life is generally 10 years. It can be used as a durable traffic sign deteriorating work area facility.
Class III, usually hermetically encapsulated glass bead type structures, are called high-strength grade retroreflective coatings and have a typical service life of 10 years and can be used for permanent traffic signs and work area facilities.
Type IV, usually a microprism structure, is called a super-grade retroreflective film and its service life is generally 10 years. It can be used for permanent traffic signs, work area facilities, and delineators.
Class V, usually a microprism structure, is called a large angle retroreflective film and has a typical service life of 10 years. It can be used for permanent traffic signs, work area facilities, and delineators.
Class VI, usually a microprism structure, with a metal coating, typically has a service life of 3 years, can be used for delineators and traffic columns, and can also be used for work area facilities and character-less traffic signs when no metal plating is available.
Type VII, which is usually a microprism structure, has a flexible material with a typical service life of 3 years and can be used for temporary traffic signs and work area facilities.
